Round up 30th July 2017

June round-up

What's been happening at Immersive VR HQ?

Hoseasons had the best weather

In the midst of the heatwave, our film crew headed off to Sandymouth in Cornwall for a film shoot for Hoseasons. It was an action-packed few days which involved getting our first 360° underwater footage – from both the bottom of a pool and the front of a surfboard! And it all went swimmingly...

Touring the country for Harrison’s Leisure

It’s been a busy month for filming. While one team headed off to Cornwall, we sent Elliott and Steven off in the opposite direction for our second phase of projects for Harrison’s Leisure. They travelled to the Lake District and Wales to film some of the holiday resorts there – eight in total! We’ve been hard at work ever since putting the footage together for the final films.

Game Jam mk 2

We held our second game jam earlier this month – this time setting ourselves the challenge of building an augmented reality game from scratch in two days. The concept? RC-AR. Each member of the team picked their preferred mode of transport, and they were modelled and pitted against each other in an AR car race! It was an intense two days – some things worked, some things didn’t – and it’s fair to say we learned a lot about the capabilities of AR in the process!

Rob got hitched!

Congratulations to our Creative Director, Rob and his new wife Sophie, who tied the knot at the start of June in endlessly stylish and beautifully laid-back style. It was a scorcher of a day filled with everything good – barbecues, booze, classic Volkswagens and a bucking bronco! Not to mention some amazing dancing (especially from us lot).
