Among the pioneers
We’re an innovative production studio with an expert team consisting of 3D modellers, filmmakers, storytellers, illustrators, artists, developers, designers, fabricators and creative technologists. We’ve created experiences for a wide range of clients, agency partners and sectors from international charities like British Red Cross to premiership football teams like West Ham United to global retail giants such as IKEA.
Three years in saw some exciting changes. We moved into another, larger, space in the Union Building, and transitioned into Immersive Studios – specialising in VR, AR, 360º video and games.
The first half
The first six months of 2018 passed in a blur of major projects for British Red Cross, Brabham Automotives and South Norfolk District Council – but we were delighted to see our work for Scottish Government still attracting attention with its nomination for a Campaign Tech Award.
The end of the year and another award nomination – this time for the Tech Innovator Award at the EDP Business Awards.
Jet setting & DADI Awards
After another madcap year which saw us travel to places such as Geneva, Myanmar, St Tropez and Ghana (among others!) for projects with Ericsson, Harley Davidson and The Forest Trust, we were thrilled to be nominated for three DADI awards for our work for the Scottish Government, the National Football Museum and West Ham United.
In our second year we continued to grow, building up a team of highly skilled individuals across multiple disciplines. But this meant we had to move again – and the studio set up in a bigger space in the Union Building.
To cap a hugely successful year, we picked up our first award – taking home the EDP Business award for Breaking Boundaries. After all our hard work, this was a very proud moment for our team!
Throughout 2016, we were inundated with high-profile projects for clients such as Ericsson, West Ham United, Aveeno and Dr Martens. To meet demand, we rapidly grew – moving into a larger studio in the Union Building, Norwich.
After months of detailed R&D to help us get to grips with the very new – and rapidly evolving – technology, we attended NAMM 2016 in LA to deliver our first major client project – a VR installation to help Yamaha launch their new drum kit in association with renowned drummer, Steve Gadd.
Matt & James
Two enterprising friends, Matt Martin and James Burrows, had been interested in the emergence of VR for a while. They spied an opportunity to mix up their traditional digital agency background by moving into “immersive” technologies – and Immersive VR Ltd was born.
